SHUT DOWN GARISSA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE PERMANENTLY, LEADERS DEMAND

Several legislators now want the government to permanently close Garissa University College.
MPs Kangogo Bowen (Marakwet East), Jackson Kiptanui (Keiyo South) and William Kisang (Marakwet West), and former Cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott - have also asked the Government to redeploy all Christian servants serving in the North Eastern region to other areas, saying the terror attacks have been based on religious background.
“This is no longer a terrorist affair but it has proved to be a religious war in which Christians have been constantly targeted and heinously executed in cold blood. To guarantee their security, they should be redeployed immediately to areas where there is religious tolerance because the Government has failed to provide enough security for them,” said Mr Bowen.
He further said that the rampant attacks are no longer a terrorist affair but have eventually come out to prove to be a “religious war” in which Christians have been constantly targeted and heinously executed in cold blood.
“The Government should know it is very dangerous for Christians to operate in North Eastern region,” added Mr Bowen.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday declared a three days of national mourning in honour of the victims of the attack. At the same time, MUSO leaders from various campuses, led by Geoffrey Omondi, have issued a ten day ultimatum to the government to beef up security in all universities especially Moi University.

MOI VARSITY STUDENT PASSES ON

A somber mood has engulfed Moi University following the pronouncement of the demise of Geffrey Cheruiyot Lagat. Lagat, a fourth year student in School of Business and Economic, Marketing Option was found dead at around 10pm by a passer-by along the road at Huruma Estate in Eldoret, where he had gone to visit his sister.
Confirming the incident to the 3rd Eye, Miss Sally Cherobon a fourth year Education student and a cousin to the deceased reveals that cause of his death is still unknown, contrary to the reports that he had been knocked off by a car. Adding the family are waiting the post mortem report from Moi teaching and Referral Hospital where his body is being kept.

The late Geffrey known to many as ‘Geff,’ hails from Kaptel in Nandi County. Previously he was residing at Rima Residential at Stage, before he transferred to KPA West Campus this year. He has been a part time employee at Coca Cola Company in Eldoret, after he was retained by company after his attachment last year.
However he has been doing his exams at Main Campus. Condoling his sudden departure most of his friends remember ‘Geff’ as a humble and hardworking man. Some of his friends confirm to have spoken to him last evening via face book(Geff Lagat) .His last Status update at around 9.12pm was a condolence message to the late Makueni Senator Hon Mutula Kilonzo, who passed on yesterday.

Image is key,dressing is something personal. It can be influenced by fashion trends,age and gender. It should be socially acceptable but someone should wear what they prefer, what accentuates their bodies, lifts their mood and makes them feel awesome,smart or even sexy.
The Islamic movement requires women to wear veils and hijabs to cover their hair,heads and faces. Question is, is there any specific verse in the Quran that suggests this?NO. Well, the Quran states that women should dress modestly.,.

CAMPUS LADIES WITH HAIR

Ladies how do you feel when mosses and moulds start growing in your hair? When your hair looks like some sort of animal habitat and breeding site for lice? I do not mean to intrude but there is these crop of ladies who never change their hairstyle from day 1 of school to the last! Please save us that eyesore.

LIFE IN STAGE AND HOSTEL IN THE CAMPUS

Moi University is a national recognized academic institution with student from different places all over the country. Some students stay at hostels and others at stage. I have compared the life at both places and they are different .most students who stay at stage tend to have more money hence living more luxurious life than those in hostels. But they face a major problem in insecurity and most of them tend to be party freaks due to bars and club which are near to them easy to access.

Life in hostel are cheaper compared to stage but most hostel like privacy because many people stay in one room and also uncomfortable because of uncleanness in the hostels. I have been weighing which place is best for student to stay but I have come to a conclusion one should choose a place where he or she fits comfortably.

TYPES OF ROOMMATES AND CLASSMATES IN CAMPUS

In an academic institution like a university one meets different types of people depending on their religious beliefs, tribes or even characters. For students living in hostels you may be given a room with a person you have never seen or met, The person may be a drunkard or someone from the lake who likes cooking ‘omena’ which stinking bad for a person who is never used to it thereby one has to get used to live with different kind of people in order to survive the students life.

Also in classes there are student who are jokers never serious with their class work but during graduation day you find them graduating with second class honor upper division same with the people who were ever serious. For a student to do well or survive a campus life “lazima ukue mjanja”

                     CAMPUS STUDENTS WITH TATOOS

I do love tats, been thinking of getting several on my skin as some fellow student in campus have done. Still weighing the whys and why nots. These markings and inscriptions made by a needle cutting the skin 3000 times a minute are cool, right? No.
Tattoos bear different meanings and different people get them for different reasons i may not know. Is it really worth it for me to expose my body to the danger of a hepatitis infection for a tat that would prolly be in another language that i don’t understand though it looks amazing? A symbol that prolly is an insult when the artist made me believe is a symbol for peace?
Do i really really need one to survive? Do i have to get a tat then start wondering later how i’ll remove it and the significance it has in my life?
Should i compromise my religious beliefs that demonise tats so i can look cool? What will be my mother’s reaction to her child getting a tat? Well,..
Tattoos mean that you belong to something, a form of art, an expression, beauty, perceptions. To have or Not to have? Not to.

                    LIGHT PROBLEMS IN THE CAMPUS HOSTELS

In the recent past us student living in the campus hostels have face major challenges whereby we experience power blackout now and then especially during the early hours of the nightfall. The students have reported the matter to the administration of the campus.we expect the problem will be solved with immediate effect or student will have hard time to do the studies.

                EARLY TWENTIES LIFE-STAGE
"This is that stage where you should get serious with life" that's what my elder sister told me. Some say this is life-stage with major responsibilities. Will i marry in my early twenties? Hell no! so who those take this as a big deal should give some of us a break.
If i don't enjoy myself while am at this stage when will I?. To emphasize on that this phase its hard because it sneaks in at campus or college. Am i suppose to ties myself on a tree to avoid the thirst that come with it?
  The stage in life ought to be maximized to the fullest when in campus. There are high chances that the thought of not using this stage will knock you down while in your thirties if you don't use it wisely.
 So campus guys and ladies who are likely in their early twenties do what you do best. Team members day Hurrah! Hurrah! party freaks!

SECURITY CRISIS IN CAMPUS

Security issue needs to be addressed before it gets out of hand. This issue was yesterday brought to light yesterday after students woke to the shocking news that their fellow female student was raped and murdered brutally. The body was found veecam resident just behind saint Michaels catholic church

Noises and commotion could be heard at around 10 am this to some extend attracted students of different calibers in terms of church goers and non church goers to gather around the administration block. ‘’Wasee eeh! Wasee aah” was the inciting words which could be heard from the violence lethal and prolific frontrunners during the violent demonstration. I can’t deny the fact that this brought out the dark side of some of us. Even the ‘campus divas’ were throwing stones with ease to police officers, don’t judge a book by its cover

For an instance I thought I was watching a cinema in the IMAX film theatre after the student put a police landrover ablaze. The students watched with satisfaction as the police vehicle burnt down in flames. The smiles of their faces couldn’t deny the fact that they had ripped the fruit of their labor. The security personnel could not help but watched from a well calculated distance because  even the smell of their sight catalyzed the fury of the comrades as they were the ones to blame for insecurity as they never performed their duty as required .

The student then decided to organize a meeting which took place today at 9am today and they decided to hold  a demonstration in order to address issues concerning insecurity and accommodation crisis in the campus.
